Hiya!!! I'm blogging from work!!! How cool is that? Haha. I'm on my lunch break now. The staff are seriously super friendly and I'm really enjoying it tremendously. It's tiring, yes but I don't really feel it when I'm at work, it's only once I reach home I realise how tired I am. But that's good you know? I'd love to be this happy throughout my entire career. I look forward to going to work everyday (though I hate getting up early).

I took a later bus today because I got up late (oops!) but I still arrived before my boss, so that's fine. Haha!!! I missed my breakfast so I had 1.5 cups of coffee and a cheese and onion pasty that S got for me. My colleagues really are the friendliest bunch!!!

Alright, I better go now. Lunch time's almost up.

First Day At Work!!!

I can't type much because it's late, but IT WAS AWESOME!!! Seriously, I didn't expect it to be this fantastic and enjoyable!!! The staff there were all really friendly, and my tutor is great!!! Also the previous pre-reg is still there and she's from Malaysia as well so obviously we get a long well. Then there's a 2nd year student (who's going on to 3rd year) who's worked there since last summer, so he knows everything already. Super fun!!! I did almost everything today!!! Ordering, dispensing, dosettes, methadone, CD register, sending off prescriptions, repeats!!! Gosh it was really fun!!! I did get kind of sleepy after lunch. So I think I'll get a coffee after lunch to prevent the yawns. That's all I'll say for now. Gotta get to bed soon.

Nottingham - Take 4 - Success!!!

Hi everyone!!! Sorry for the delay. I was crazily tired the past few days. Yes, as the title suggests, I DID IT!!! Hahaha!!! Finally made it to Nottingham sort of on time. I missed the first bus, but it was not my fault (although I was late by a few mins)!!! The bus stop I was waiting at was the wrong one. Luckily a kind old man pointed me in the right direction. So then I took the 8.33am bus and reached about 10am. Wee!!! Then obviously, I went shopping!!! Haha.

First stop, Victoria Centre:

These 2 maxi dresses were only £10 each, but I decided that I hardly wear them so I didn't buy any. Even though they were luxuriously soft and form fitting.

I went to La Senza, TopShop, and quite a few other shops. I bought this crystal leopard case for £10. It's the normal price for it, BUT I was in a hurry that I didn't check the quality properly. Urgh. It sparkles, yes, brilliantly. However, the crystals fall off quite easily. The man who sold it to me had the nerve to tell me that they don't! Grrr... I've already lost two and have superglue-ed back 4.

Here's where it got kind of weird. I was walking towards H&M and this random British photographer said "ni hao" to me. Normally I would get irritated by it cuz he's assuming I'm from China. BUT, he said it in a friendly way so I just smiled back. If I could turn back time, Iwould have stayed the HELL away from him. Because he ended up following me down the street and said he would take some pics for me, and so he did and said he would print them for me now. So I felt obligated to follow him to Boots where he spent more than 30mins printing those damn pictures. Then he said he would take more and so I don't know like he was helping me and he looked so excited I just felt really bad and kind rude if I said I don't want to take anymore. Which is weird you know. Because I've always wanted to be a model, but I just felt so bored and uncomfortable!!! Not only that, he was SO FULL OF HIMSELF!!! Seriously, I've never met such a boastful person. The worst thing is he doesn't even realise. It's not like Mean Girls where the Plastics know they are full of themselves. He's like nice but he boasts about himself a lot but says it in a matter of fact kind of way. Which is soooooo annoying because he's still polite so I can't diss him and walk off you know? Urgh!!!

Because of him, I accidently gave him my house address. Stupid me. I wanted to give him my pharmacy address but I couldn't remember it. I should have told him I forgot and will email it to him. Damn me and my slow brain. Anyw, he wasn't even that good.

He took these with my phone. And these are the nice ones. The rest were horrible.

Here's part of the conversation and the entire 2 hours it was like that:

Him: Show your parents and your friends ok?

Me: Hmmm, ok.

Him: Then they will be like oh this guy takes good pictures, we want to meet him! And your friends will be oh, these are so nice!!! And your bf will say wow this guy is good! I want to copy him!

Me: *laughs weakly while thinking omg can you stfu and stop following me?*

Seriously? My parents would wanna meet you? Even if you did take good photos, why the hell would my parents wanna meet you? Does taking good photos imply in any way you will be a good bf? NO! Btw, he's a lousy bf. He ratted out his gf to me, if she's even real. He said she was childish, jealous, demanding, inconsiderate, while telling me how good he is. If you were a good bf, you wouldn't talk shit about your gf to a stranger. And honestly, not good getting married because you've not finished studying is a good reason. He was pissed because his gf asked him to marry her a few months before her visa expires, but he said no because he said he asked her before this and she said no and her reason was that because she had not finished studying and it was a stupid reason. Fuck you man. Who the hell wants to marry you anyw? I don't know how she stands him. She's a pretty Taiwanese apparently. All the more reason to think he made these stories up. Even typing this makes me angry. Throughout the entire 2 hours I had to be nice to him, compliment him on him normal pics, saying he sounds like a good bf, saying the pics he took of me are nice. God, I hate being pretentious!!!

Also, because of him, I did not manage to shop in H&M, didn't go to Oriental Mart (my oyster sauce!!!), and couldn't return a pair of £6 wedges!!! Hmph!!! Plus he smokes so his breath and clothes stank of it. Ewww!!!

I finally said I needed to go back around 6pm and he said he would accompany me to the bus station. I kept saying it's alright but he said its only polite to do so and he does that for all his friends. Urghhh!!! I didn't want him to know which bus I took home goddamnit!!! Now I can't even go out without looking around suspiciously, even though my address is still not on google maps. But its a small town. If he drove around for about 30mins he'd be able to find it. So yes, I'm afraid. It might be conceited of me to think people would come and stalk me, but it's always better to be careful, no?

So I came home feeling rather scared. It was a wonderful day, but it got rotten at the end. =(

Nottingham - Take 3 - Room

OMG. This is the 3rd attempt and I failed, yet again!!! I sound so happy about it but I'm not!!! Seriously. I know I slept late last night but I really really wanted to be able to go to Nottingham today. Nothing special happening there today, but it's already the freaking 3rd time you know? Anyw, I woke up at 11 in the morning all nice and comfy and rested, and JUST KNEW that I had missed all 4 alarms (where each rings for 4 more times). Damn. It's scary what I can sleep through.

That's all. I didn't go anywhere today. But I watched the first 2 Harry Potter movies again!!! The first movie was out 10 years ago but it felt just like yesterday that I watched it. I still remember almost everything in the movie. Oh, I love Harry Potter. The books and the movies I mean, not the character. I'm somewhat in love with Draco Malfoy, though I know he's a mean person and a rather cowardly character. My sister used to have dreams about Harry Potter, with me and her in it. I was Malfoy's gf. Oh, how I loved hearing her dreams (eventhough she portrayed me as some bimbo). Hahaha!!! Those were the days. Now that the last movie is out, and it's all going to end. Though, not really. It all lives on in us. But I'm very happy to be able to say I am part of the Harry Potter generation. The generation that grew up with Harry Potter.

Ya ya, I was suppose to go to Nottingham today, but I failed to do so, AGAIN!!! I slept super late last night so I already knew I wouldn't be able to go. I went to Mansfield instead, and gosh, shopped again!!! This is what £26 at Primark can get you:

Not bad huh? It's quite a lot of stuff!!! I'll probably return half of it. Like that floral top, and erm erm, nothing else. Haha. I plan on returning the leopard stool (amazing that I'm returning leopard stuff right?) too cuz my landlord finally brought back the desk chair for me. Hurray! A proper chair! So that will save me 6pounds! Oh and I'm returning the floral dress and bracelet from H&M. So another 10pounds! Woohoo!!!

Hmmm, actually nothing to be happy about because I still spent alot. OMG. Thankfully this will be my last shopping trip. *I hope* I'm going to Sutton town on Thursday to return the leopard stool, so hopefully I don't accidently venture into any shops.

That's about it. Oh, then I made steamed egg for dinner!!! Yummy!!! Plus I simply threw together 2 other dishes.

Nottingham - Take 1 - Sutton

I was suppose to test out taking the bus at the time I need for work today, which means having to wake up at 6.45am in the morning to catch the 8.03am bus. Urgh. To make up for it I wouldn't stop at Kirkby but continue on to Nottingham. However I couldn't sleep last night because I was too hungry at 1am because I ate at 7.30pm. So I HAD to go down and have a cup of milk. Anyw, in the end I only managed to sleep around 3am. So I silenced my alarm this morning and ended up waking at 12pm, and sat on my bed cutting my hair for 2 hours. =.=

Then I decided I wouldn't waste my day and ventured into the town again and had McD for lunch. Yum!!!

And to nobody's surprise I went shopping, again. In less than 2 hours I managed to spend £34. Of all skills to have, why do I have the ability to shop like crazy? But but but I can totally justify some. Erm, a quarter of it was to buy stuff for my cats and my landlord's dogs, plus a leopard stool and some ingredients for a brownie. And erm, another 2 pounds was spent on this:

Haih. Moving to other topics, I made brownies. It was sort of a success? I followed this recipe I saw on yahoo. It didn't quite turn out as expected. It tasted all right but took freaking 3hours to make!!! Recipes always say it takes 20mins (or in this case only 12mins) to prepare. BUT IT IS A LIE!!! I always end up taking at least an hour to prepare. Grrr... Anyhow, my brownie was rather dense. Hmmm. I did substitute some ingredients, but I don't know. Maybe it was just me.

I know its an ugly picture. I'll upload a nicer one later.

Oh well. At least I still have yummy Chinese rice (don't know what else to call it) to eat!!!

Finally got out of the house

After 5 days of holing up in my room, I finally stepped outside today. Good thing today was a sunny day!!! I didn't even check the weather. Ya, so I went out to get groceries. Haha. The stupid trolley which I took out with me kept knocking into my legs as I pulled it back. But then again, I couldn't have carried all the groceries back without it. So its equal then?

New House

Ok, so I have promised a post today about my new house, and here it is:

It has a rather unique "light" on the ceiling (which unfortunately can't be seen here), directly on top of the toilet bowl. It's more like a hole with a translucent light cover from which sunlight shines through and lights up the entire toilet in the day.

Leopards and Shopping

Just heard a cat fight outside my window. Scary stuff to hear at 1am in the morning when you're down with cough and sore throat.

It only lasted awhile though but I couldn't really see the cats very well because it was dark (obviously) and cats are just so slinky and blend well. They're linked to mystery and sleekness, which makes them so goddamned attractive. Which is one of the reasons why I love leopard so much. Leopards are beautiful, sleek, sexy and yet ferocious and fierce even though they are quite soliditary. Everything I wish to be.

You might think its just a fashion statement, or just because leopard print recently got famous (well it has been around for ages just that it never went mainstream till about 2 years ago). Or maybe you thought I'm so obssessed with it because my bf likes it. Well, the answer to those is no. Yes, it is a fashion statement, but its more than that. And my bf hates it. He would prefer if I wore less leopard print. In his words:"You are an animal or a human?"

So there, my random rant about my obsession with leopard print and all things leopard . Btw check out this guys take on leopard print history!

Just to update eveyone, I have moved to Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield, UK. It is some god-forsaken town in the middle of nowhere. Well, not literally. It ain't that bad, but a total bore compared to Glasgow. I miss Glasgow already. It's a small town with some almost-decent shopping (the only shops I recognize are Dorothy Perkins and New Look), friendly neighbours, and rather chilly weather.

I shall rant more on the lack of shopping. There's not even a Primark for crying out loud. The nearest one is in Mansfield and I have to take a bus there. Urgghh. What is worse is that the nearest H&M is in Chesterfield or Nottingham, whereby both of which are more than an hr's worth of bus ride away!!! Noooo...!!! H&M!!! I beg you!!! Open one in Idlewells Shopping Centre. PLEASE!!!

Oh btw, a joke from my dad, ever the joker:"Nottingham sounds like Nothing Ham when you say it fast". Haha! Good one daddy!!! There really is hardly anything there. *sigh*

On a lighter note, I went to Birmingham just a few days ago to send my dad off (sobs). There were lots of awesome shops around though I didn't get much done as I had a limited amount of time and practically no money to spend. =(

But the highlight was Malibutique! I went there thrice! Haha. There was a huge blown up tent where you enter and get a free delicious Malibu cocktail, get your pic taken and upload it on fb, have some free styling advice from Heat, plus (if you're lucky) get some appointments for mini treatments like hair styling, make up, manicure from Nails Inc., and get a fake tan from FakeBake. You also get a free nail polish from "The Cocktail Collection by Malibu" for Nails Inc. which comes in three colours: Malibu Cosmo, Malibu Mojito, and Maliblush.

I wasn't that lucky the first two times (which were with my dad on the same day =p), but the third time (third time lucky?) I got to do some make up. I got in with some random guy from Jordan who lined up behind me. I won't reveal his name in case he somehow manages to find this blog, which I doubt, but I'd rather not. Anyw, he ended up following me around like a lost puppy (albeit a lot less cuter) while I shop and was rather disappointed when I said I have to go back (he thinks I live in Northampton for god knows what reason even though I told him repeatedly its Nottingham). The good thing was that he accompanied me all the way to the bus, so I had a free tour guide as he's been in Birmingham for 7 years.

I did do some shopping while I was there and I guess I overspent? It's not as much as you think. it doesn't even cross 50pounds. But I'm on a really tight budget. Gotta return some stuff. =(

Short Break

Hi people!!! I'm currently having a short break in between finals. It's just for the weekend. I mean they can't make us have finals during the weekend as well right? Can they?

Anyw, I went on a shopping spree today. Well not really because I already planned on buying them, it's just that I'm currently broke (like seriously) but I have to buy them now because they're on offer. So what am I talking about? It's Lancome's latest offer in John Lewis. What it says is that you get a free set of stuff worth over £73 when you buy 2 items, and a third item will get you a full size make up remover.

Sounds good? What I got was even better. With each item I bought I got a free set, plus the free make up remover plus a sample of the Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate.

Ya, it sounds like super worth it. But guess what? I'm not sure if I actually got the best offer. Like you only need to spend £30 to get a free set of stuff, and the free stuff looks a lot more and a lot more worth it!!! Grrr... Though these offers have all expired. Plus they very cheating wan!!! The stuff in the pic? They only gave half of it. Like one set is only half of it. So although I have 3 sets, it's only like 1.5 of the pic. Not sure if I'm being cheated here. It seems like I should have bought these earlier. Or maybe checked out House of Fraser and Boots before I purchased thses. Hmmm. Maybe I did get the best offer but I somehow feel cheated. Which is awful because I thought I scored the best deal in the world when I paid for these.

Oh, and I wanted to get the new Samsung Galaxy S II from O2 today as they offered it at £399 on Pay & Go but you'll have to be locked to them for 12 months. Which is freaking cheap compared to buying it with contract because I didn't need that much credit and stuff. Plus if you buy it SIM free outside, it costs £494. Almost £100 more!!! I didn't really mind the phone being locked to O2 as I planned on unlocking it like a month later.

Thinnest smartphone ok? Plus it has some super high tech hardware.

Now I can finally play Angry Bird!!!

Then she told me that I still can get it online, which relieved the hell out of me. Then I went back home, went onto their website, and found out...

THE PAY & GO OPTION HAS ALSO BEEN TAKEN OFF THE WEBSITE!!!

IF ONLY I HAD BOUGHT IT EARLIER!!!

It's not like I was unsure or what, I just didn't want to pay the delivery charge plus I wanted to see the real phone and play around with it before actually buying it. BUT WTH!?!?!

Now I have to deliberate if I want to wait until Vodafone comes out with good contract deals (it's only coming soon) or buy the SIM free phone and claim VAT (which will only come out to about 10% after minusing administration fees and such).

Oh and before going home, my dear green friend and I went to Starbucks to order a customized drink. The barista didn't understand our order and gave us a coffee based Frapp instead of the Strawberry cream based Frapp that we wanted. ISH!!! Though to me it was still alright, I would have wanted to try the version that I had in mind!!! Not to mention it was expensive.

The Last Hurdle

Hi everyone. Guess what? Now all that is left between me and my degree is my finals. Urghhh. Yucks!!! I HATE exams. I don't know why, but this is the most unmotivated I've ever felt for exams. Which is rather ironic, considering it is the MOST important exam of my entire life. Haih. I'm just so weird.

On a irrelevant note, summer is approaching. Which means the weather is warm enough for people with no worries to frolick around and play. Which leads to LOTS OF BBQs OUTSIDE MY WINDOW. Grrrr... You might say that it has nothing to do with me. But it DOES!!!

1. They're tempting me to go out and play
2. They're freaking distracting with their screams and shouts and with me being such a ke po chi (busybody) I'll look out the window every 5 secs.
3. The smoke from the bbq bloody floods my entire room if I even open the window with the tiniest crack. Which is freaking annoying because right now it's hot and stuffy in my room and I need some fresh cold wind! Even if I could stand the smoke smell, I would be worried that somehow it'll trigger the fire alarm in my room, causing EVERYONE from THREE freaking blocks to evacuate and blame me when its not even my fault.

There! Now can you say it doesn't concern me?

Hmph!

After my finals, we're definitely going to have a BBQ outside one of those halls filled with Ang Mohs!!!

Hi everyone. So I've just passed up an assignment this afternoon. Now all that is left is my thesis and finals. Wow. Can't believe time has passed so fast!!! In 4 months I'll be starting my new job and have got a degree under my belt. I'm having mixed feelings about not studying anymore.

Good things about studying:
Holidays
Friends all around you
Not much responsibility besides to your own work

Bad things about studying:
Studying?
Assignments
Memorising stuff that I don't think is applicable to me

Good things about working:
No more studying!!!

A fixed amount of time to work, doing specific stuff that is related to your job

So ya, not really sure how I should feel about graduating soon. But then again, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm not even sure if I CAN graduate as a pharmacist. I certainly hope I can. Lots of revision and practice will be required. Hopefully I'll ace the exams and get at least a 2nd class degree.

All right. I'm gonna go catch up on my sleep now. As usual I didn't sleep the night before. So, *yawn*! Nitez!!! =)

Hi you all!!! I just did one of the most random thing ever!!! I went to London with 3 good friends on a whim. Hahaha. We just decided we wanted to go somewhere and so we took a train down at 4 in the morning without a place to stay. Though we did pack and tried to find a hostel before that. It was awesome but super tiring. I almost collapsed on the street while walking in the afternoon. But after snoozing awhile when the rest where eating helped. Hehe. Anyw, so shopping + super nice food (mainly) and finally getting a place in the Malaysian Hall. Just got back about 6 hours ago. Time to face reality and go back to doing assignments and studying. Urghhhh. But it was a good trip!!! =)

Woohoo!!! Submitted my assignment and my plagarism score is way down low!!! Hurray for me!!! I don't need to re-do mine. YES!!! Now I can start off my list!!! Oh, but I'll have a nice long shower before going out for Japanese food to celebrate Huey Ping's birthday!!! Then after the yummy food, I'm gonna change into comfy PJs and sleep!!! Sleep till the next afternoon. Oh, the bliss of being able to get up and whatever time you like. YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! Forgive my extreme exuberance!!! I've not had this luxury for more than a month!!! Thats a hell lot for someone who loves her sleep.

What to do after more than a month of deadlines

Hi everyone. I've not updated for such a long time. No surprise there. But what I am surprised at is me updating NOW. I'm currently rushing to finish a 2.5k word essay which requires journals and such by 5pm tomorrow. Urgh. Looks like there won't be any sleep tonight either. Oh well. Typical me. I do wish I'd change though.

So, I was just thinking what would be top on my list after this Fri, and here is what came to my mind:

1. Sleep!!! (this is by far the most important!!!)
2. Shopping and eating Japanese/Italian food (I'd most likely go for both)
3. GYM!!! (I have been seriously slacking on this and I can see the changes)
4. Bake (I have been itching to bake some cake or cookies. Anything!!!)
5. Start the next assignment (not the loveliest thing to do after completion, but it prevents another last minute rush)

Alright. Back to my essay. Bye!!! =)

My first facebook status

Recently you might have noticed your friends using this new application called first facebook status or something along those lines, or maybe you've even used it yourself. Or maybe not. Anyw, I tried it and though the status it generated would have been something I would think I'd write, the date didn't telly. I mean I joined facebook in 2007, so why would my first status be 2 years later? Completely bogus.

So then, my friend commented on it and decided to set off on an insane task. To search for her first status by going to her profile and clicking "older posts" until she reaches her goal. Insane? Absolutely. Haha. Well she managed to do it in under an hour. Naturally, the procrastinator in me wanted to jump onto this idea immediately. But, I controlled myself and thought, well I'd do it once I'm done with all my assignments. *Sigh* However I'm not that disciplined, so that resolve all but lasted for 5 minutes. After which I started enthusiastically clicking older posts on my profile. The guilt finally settled in after about 45 minutes (well actually it started after the first 10 minutes but I just nudged it aside), and decided to continue the next day.

Which is today!!! And I did it!!! Guess what was my first status?

I was like what the hell!?!?! THAT was my real first status? Seriously? Of all things I could have written like, "hello facebook world, look who's finally here!!!" or "Let's see how much better this is than friendster", I chose that!!! Oh my goodness. Haha. Nonetheless, it was good fun glancing through all the old memories on facebook. Makes me remember all the good times during college and the first few years of university.

Be Thankful For What You Have

I was just looking at my facebook page and had a random urge to blog. So, about my title. Right now I'm having labs, and a lot of deadlines are coming soon. I have 6 deadlines coming in the next 2 months. Sounds crazy? To add to that, I have to start calling up pharmacies asking if they're interested in offering me a pre-reg (sort of like a housemanship for a year to get my pharmacist license) place after I graduate. Doesn't sound too bad right? But the thing is I have to call pharmacies in England, not Scotland (long story), AND fly down for interviews. OMG. I only have a week to do that before my lectures start on the 24th. This week I'm still having labs so I can't. Gosh. Crazy workload!!! Normally I would be absolutely stressed out (I am still stressed though) and be frustrated with everything. But if I stop to think, I actually am not in such a bad situation.

-I still have some time to finish my assignments and study for exams.
-I have the opportunity to actually work in the UK
-My labs are absolutely a breeze compared to the others
-My lab mates and lab supervisors are awesome!!!

Thats for my workload. And if I think more about my life, it gets better.

-I'm not all that bad looking
-I'm in reasonably good shape without much effort
-I have an awesome bf who's super devoted to me
-My bf's going to be a doctor
-I'm going to be a pharmacist and earn a hell lot more than some of my friends (though not all)
-I have a wonderful family and awesome friends
-I get to go back to Malaysia a lot more than most people
-I'm whole. No disabilities, allergies, sensitivities. I mean sure, I have some minor conditions(?) but it's not disabling and its seriously minor.

So I have it a lot better than most people. So sometimes you just have to stop and think of all the good things you actually have. Then you'll realise how good your life is. It sounds cliche, but really, compared to the children in Africa and people in countries at war, how bad can your life be?

I saw this saying by Kenzi, it's really cute:

"I think from now on, whenever I feel like life's too hard, I'll remind myself that at least I don't have to go running around trying to find and destroy horcruxes all while the most evil man around is trying to kill me and everyone I know. And then I'll feel loads better."

Haha!!! It's referring to Harry Potter btw, if you didn't already know.

So take a look around you, and try to enjoy life, as it is as beautiful as you make it. =)

Winter Break

Hahaha. This is so ironic. The post before my make up post was stating that I was back in Glasgow after summer break. Now I'm going back to Malaysia for the winter break. Oops. An entire 3 months without a post. Sorry!!! All I have to say about these 3 months is that, having friends around really makes a huge difference!!! Honestly. I have to thank Charmaine for that. She's been my bestest best friend here in Glasgow. Until we're being called "host and parasite" or inseperable twins. Hahaha. I love it!!! Well, of course there are other friends besides her. The ever awesome friend Kelvin, Ching Yee, Nicole Liew and Woon, Chooi, and the rest of the "SNSD" as they like to call themselves. I'm apparently included. Hahaha. So it was all good fun.

I used to hate my room, as its the smallest room in the entire flat, as opposed to my previous room which was the biggest. But I've gotten used to it. In fact, I'll miss my hostel room when I graduate. I'll miss Glasgow for that matter. I've always said I hated the weather here and always complain about Glasgow, and keep wanting to go back to Malaysia. But in all honesty, I'll miss UK a hell lot when I'm back in Malaysia. So lets hope that I'll get a pre-reg place in the UK so I can extend my stay for another year.

Well, I've gtg actually. I've got stuff to pack. I'm leaving for the airport in 2hours time. I hope the flight will be safe and not delayed. I really hope I can sleep in the plane. There's a 10hour transit in Dubai. OMG. Thankfully I found a friend who's on the same flight as me. So hopefully it'll be good. See you in Malaysia!!! =)

Back in Glasgow

Summer's over. That was fast. 3 months just flew past. Now I'm back in cold, dreary Glasgow, when just less than 72hours ago I was in warm, cheery Malaysia. Oh well. It was a great summer for what it's worth. There are a few things that made it awesome:

1. Spent lots of time with GM™ (undeniable that it's the main reason)
2. Went to Cameron Highlands with him, JR and Linda
3. Went to Bukit Tinggi for a photoshoot with him
4. Had lots of yummy Malaysian food (I put on 2kg because of that)
5. Had the luxury of driving around, instead of walking all the time
6. Met up with lots of friends (Sorry, if I did not meet you. 3 months is waaay too short)
7. I got a RING!!! Yes!!! A RING!!! An 18carat white gold ring, with a tiny diamond, but still a diamond no less!!!

Before you fall over your head thinking that I'm engaged, I'm NOT. Let me repeat,

I AM NOT ENGAGED

It is just a promise ring. Hehe. I haven't got the chance to take a photo that does its *sparkle* justice. So when I do, I'll post it up.

Baby recently got a new Nikon D90. When he went to register for a marathon in 1u a few days ago, he so happened to notice that Triumph was going to have a fashion show later that evening. Anyw, long story short, he went with his fellow photography friend to shoot the event.

*No, my bf is not a hamsap fellow who shot it purely because its a lingerie show, but because his 1st photoshoot just so happened to be one.*

Here are some of the photos he took. I think not bad lo!!! Like press photos. This is his 1st photoshoot ok? Hehe.

A model that he said looks like Sowmya (his batchmate from IMU who was Miss Indian Malaysia 2009 or something like that. Sorry, can't remember, but she was on the front page of The Star for that. Hehe!!!)

I think the theme was something to do with recyclable or eco-friendly or something. Hence the "newspaper skirt" and the pretty flowers in her hair. Hehehe.

Ok ok!!! Yes!!! I know I've done it again!!! Abadoning my blog for the 14522048346th time. Sorry!!! People having finals soon ok? Wtd? I'm so nice to update this blog with a post just 2hrs before my exemption exam. *wishes really hardly that she can get 70% so that she will get exmpted* Anyw, just wanted to share with you all an awesome food blog by Nisha, a Singaporean girl studying in Australia, that has really simple recipes.

Like seriously. Not hard at all. Even I can make it. I did her Cheesecake Brownie. Easy and damn nice!!! Even the uncooked batter was nice. Hehehe. I was eating half of it before it went into the oven. Ooops!!! Here are some other examples of the recipes she has...

Teriyaki Chicken Rice. Looks so yummy right?!?!! Good for Malaysian/Asian students who are overseas and misses Malaysian/Asian food. Like me!!! Will definitely try this one day.

I'm going to try to make this next. Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry frosting!!! And for once, a frosting that doesn't require cream cheese. Yes, I'm a cheapskate, so I've not tried any frosting recipes because I can't bring myself to buy cream cheese just for frosting.

Last but not least, White Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! Gonna try this when I'm back in Malaysia for Summer. Hehehe!!!

Hi, I know I've been slacking on my blog, like AGAIN!!! But exams re near plus I just had my Easter holidays. It was fun!!! Went to Newcastle to visit Hong Yee, my super old time friend since Form 2, and also Elaine, which is my darling's couz's gf. Hehe. Stayed at her house la, and then went out with the both of them. They both did law in Northumbria University, except that she's 1 year his senior. I said did because she already graduated and he's graduating this Aug, so about there la. Hahaha. Anyw, it was really fun because of the company. Sorry Newcastle, but you weren't that interesting. Hahaha. Glasgow's better!!! I'll talk more on that another time, with pics.

I'm just here to say that I'm alive and that I'm bz, so that's all I'm gonna write. Will update you maybe at the end of this week after I'm done with my tests. The stress!!! Arrgh. I swear it's gonna kill me one day. Ok, that's all!!! =)

Work and Weird British Food Names

Hi!!! I just had a 1 day work in the pharmacy. Not gonna tell you which pharmacy though. Hehe. It was fun, and I learnt a lot from it. However, it was a rather slow Saturday for them, so I didn't get to experience the rush hour. It's probably better because then the pharmacist could take the time to teach me all the stuff. And also I won't get in the staff's way.

I learnt about methadone dispensing, needle exchange, selling stuff, emergency supply, CPUS, morning after pill. I mean I've learnt all these stuff in uni, but now that I've actually seen it done in the pharmacy, it's much clearer now. She really went through all the procedures with me. I'm really glad I managed to get this 1 day job. Really made me understand so much more. Students that have jobs in pharmacies have sooo much more advantages over those who don't. There's a 2nd year student there too. She knows way more than me. And I think she's way ahead of her year because she knows things that we've only learnt in 3rd year. So PP2 and PP3 will be a breeze for her. She was the one who took me through working at the till and the needle exhange programme.

Then Fiona also explained to me everything she was doing, and let me help her. So I learnt quite a lot from her as well. I do owe her a huge thank you. So,

The thing they do the most is methadone dispensing. There was like a constant flow of patients coming in. They were pretty ok though. I mean, you might expect them to be rowdy, causing havoc and scaring other patients and stuff since they're addicts, but they were ok. Pretty friendly some of them. They always say thank you and stuff like that. Though what I noticed was that most of them smelled of cigarette smoke. And they had this kind of look, like, kind of tired, or pale kind of thing. You would think like, oh, maybe they're addicts, and they are. Not all of them of course, but most of them. It's quite amazing that there are so many addicts here in Glasgow. It's not something that I would expect.

Well, that was what I did most of the time today. There's this machine that scans their fingerprint and the dose that they need just comes up. Then I just put a cup under the dispenser and it just dispenses how much I need to give them. Really simple. Sort of like a water dispenser, but you don't need to press anything. Then while the cup is filling up, I just fill in the installment slip and inform them if they need a new prescription on Monday. Then pass the cup to them once it's filled. And when they're taking it, I prepare their take home dose (because the pharmacy is closed on Sunday), cap it, label it, and then bag it. Methadone solution is dark green btw. And smells rather icky. To me anyw. I know 1 of them didn't like the taste. They normally wash it down with water. Not sure if it's because of the taste or because of the sugar. To give them more privacy, there's like a screened sitting area for them to sit and take their dose. Sort of like in restaurants, where you have booths. There's just 2 since the pharmacy's not huge. So we put a jug of water on the table for them. I quite liked dispensing methadone. So simple. Hehe. Nothing to do with me liking methadone ok? I'm not an addict.

I did make 1 mistake though. I didn't notice that the tank was almost empty, so tha amount that came out was not right. The patient did ask me if it was the correct amount and I said yes. I did wonder how come it looked rather little, but didn't realise the tank could run out. Silly me. The take home dose I gave him/her was wrong as well. But it was fixed in the end. So no worries. Luckily both the pharmacist and the patient wasn't mad at me. Pharmacist was because it's the 1st day I'm using and doing this. The patient, just because he/she was nice.

I hope I don't get caught or something for sharing these information. But I don't think they're confidential. I mean, you can't tell who the patients are from what I wrote right? I didn't reveal any information about them, just about the procedures to dispense to them. Any thing related to them are in general. No way can you deduce from what I wrote who they are. So I think I'm safe. Hehe.

For lunch I bought 2 sausage rolls from Greggs. It's a bakery that's practically everywhere in Scotland. Seriously. Like every street there's at least 1. And the smell that comes from there, OMG!!! Normally I don't buy from there, but they were having this offer, 2 sausage rolls for 99p. I was on my lunch break, so I though why not? After all, what else can you get for 99p that can make you as full as 2 sausage rolls? Then I went to McD, jst because I wanted a place to sit. I could actually go back to the pharmacy and eat upstairs, but it's cold up there!!! Plus I don't normally eat out, so I though just today would be fine. I bought a McFlurry there. The limited edition Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry. It had pieces of crushed easter egg, swirled with orange fondant sauce. Kinda nice. But I was in a rush so I was practically shoving the ice cream down. I threw a little of it away. Wasteful I know, but I was already slightly late, and it was only a little. I only ate 1 of the sausage roll because it was quite filling.

Btw, sausage here doesn't mean the sausage in Malaysia. That kind of sausage is called hot dog or frankfurter here. Sausage here tastes kind of like luncheon meat. It's mostly made of beef and pork, so my Malay friends, do watch out. There are halal butchers here so you don't have to worry about that if you buy from them, but not many around my area though. Anyw, back to sausages, it's the kind that you find in Italian shops and stuff as well. It's those that are like an English version of lap cheong, except that it's soft.

I saw on TV how people make sausages. It's like a machine where you put the ground meat into it at the top, place the casing (which really looks like a condom, and putting it on is really the same as putting a condom on. Hahaha) at the outlet, and then just turn the wheel. Then you have to keep squeezing the sausage to create a uniform shape and size. Grabbed this picture from Wikepedia. Haha. Hope it makes it clearer.

The meat goes into the place where the hands are covering, and the casing's put onto the white tube where the meat squeezes out, and you and see the person is shaping the sausage.

I saw the sausage making on Come Dine With Me. It's where a few strangers get together, and take turns hosting a dinner for the rest of that group of strangers. After the dinner, the guests rate them and the 1 with the best score wins some money. So sausage making was the fun activity in 1 of their dinners. Haha. 1 of the guests was saying that it was kind of erotic because it was like squeezing a dick. Hahaha.

Then here, they are called "bangers" because they often explode while cooking. Yes, it sounds wrong. Bangers and mash, that's sausages and mashed potatoes. It's quite a common dish here.

Talking about Scottish food, I've tried their Haggis. It's actually really yummy. Although if you know what it's made of you probably would be relunctant to try. Well, I did anyw. It was during Ching Yee's birthday housemates celebration. Ching Yee, Melissa, Brigitte and I went to Junction Bar to have dinner. So for starters we ordered Haggis, Tatties and Neeps. The British really have all sorts of weird names for food. I'll talk more on that later. Haggis is actually minced sheep windpipe, intestine and all those yucky internal organs, and then mixed with oatmeal and some beef suet (fat), and then placed inside a sheep's stomach. Sounds disgusting? Ya, I know. But it tastes good!!! Honestly!!! Tatties is mashed potatoes while Neeps is mashed swede (swedish turnip). The dish was honestly really yummy. See?

Ok, so weird British food names. Toad in a hole. Honestly, would you eat that if you didn't know what it was? It's actually just sausage baked in yorkshire pudding. So the "toad" is the sausage, in the "hole" which is the yorkshire pudding. Hahaha. Which it's not really a pudding because it's just made out of flour, eggs and milk.

Then there's Spotted Dick. Hahaha. Seriously!!! It's a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually raisins) served with custard or butter and brown sugar.

Black pudding, another famous Scottish food. It's sheep's blood sausage. I really don't get why they keep calling stuff that's not pudding, pudding. It's clearly not pudding but a kind of sausage. So why can't they just call it black sausage? Weirdos.

Another rather offensive food name is faggot. It's actually just meatballs. Hahaha. Though obviously made with all those disgusting parts.

Bubble and Squeak cakes. I actually tried making this. Hahaha. It turned out ok, but not that yummy to me. It sounds easy to make, but is actually quite hard if you don't have the right applicances. I had a picture for it, but because of all sorts of bloody mistakes, I kept deleting pictures and having to put them back on is such a pain because you have to drag it down. Arrgh!!! So go google it yourself. BBC Food has a nice picture of it.

Ok, I'm too lazy to continue searching for funny names and pictures of it, so just go to this link. It has a few funny names with what they are. No pictures though. Go google them yourself!!! McVite's Hob nobs are really yummy btw. Hehe. Am muncing on one now.

Stressed!!!

Oh, dear. I know I am terribly behind time in my blog. Oops!!! Life here is hectic k? So stressed!!! I don't even know why I am writing a post now when I have:

1. DD3 report to do which I have not even finished half
2. Biopharm test to study for, and I've not started
3. Accommodation forms to fill

The deadline for all these is 1st of April!!! Stupid April Fool day. Why would they want to have a class test on April Fool day? I do hope the lecturers don't trick us. Like say, time's up? and then oops, April Fool!!! Or meaner stuff, like teling us at the start of the exam that we have an extra hour to do it, then 15mins before the actual finishing time, say, April Fool!!! You only have 15mins left. OMG!!! Hahaha. Though I doubt they are that awful. They are actually really nice and friendly.

Until now I can't find a Saturday job or a summer job in a pharmacy!!! I've looked, called, emailed, visited, and STILL no results. Aargh!!! Annoying!!! It's really important for me to get a job because I need to be on an employer's list to get mactched for Pre-registration. Even if I work at a place, it's not guaranteed that I will be on that list, and even if I AM on it, I won't know. OMG!!! Shit IMU should have helped us get some placement here. At least then we'll have some work experience. The students here all practically have work experience in pharmacies. If they don't have a pharmacy job right now, you can bet that they used to. Tons of them are working part time. Since Strathclyde is not the only uni that has pharmacy, we have to compete with students from other universities as well!!! The competition is so tough!!! We (MQs- IMU students) are at the losing end because we have no work experience so employers are more likely to go for local students. Plus we don't have cars so we have to depend on bus/train/our legs.

Then accommodation. Before coming here, I remembered that IMU gave us a sheet stating that we could pay the tuition fees and accommodation fees for 2 years in 1 go. It suggests that our accommodation in the hostels is guaranteed for the 2 years. But then now, we are only guaranteed a place in the hostels for this year. The next academic year will depend on our luck as it is by ballot. I thought IMU would arrange it for us? Then what about those people who paid for 2 years? Will they be guaranteed a room then? Though I don't actually know anyone who paid for the 2 years. It is all so confusing. This is the problem of being the 'guinea pig' batch. Horrible!!! Our juniors will have it a lot easier than us, as we would tell our mentees and they would come prepared. Unlike us!!! Unfair!!!

Research. I know that this is a field where you can potentially earn a lot of money and also become 'famous' in the healthcare world. But I HATE doing literature review and referencing. OMG!!! My head is going to explode just thinking about all this. Yucks!!! Finding references from journals only is going to make me insane. But the deadline is 1st of April!!! I don't have much time left and I'm still barely half finished. Urrghh!!! Kelvin is coming over tonight to do it with me and Ching Yee. Hope this group work thing will 'inspire' me to finish it once and for all. If not then at least to do 3/4 of it.

The only good thing about staying alone is that you will start to experiment with food more. I did rice pudding recently. Yummy!!! Did you know that the skin formed while baking milk tastes like the "fu chuk" in "fu chuk yi mai"? Damn yummy ok? Hahaha!!!

Then I did bread pudding, but it was not successful because I added too much milk!!! Then other things la, like some mushroom salad. Oh!!! I love the mushrooms here!!! So yummy!!! It's called closed cup mushrooms. Not sure if Malaysia sells them, I doubt so since they are from Scotland. It's white in colour and it's kinda firm. The colour changes to brown once its cooked. Yummy gila!!! Hehehe!!!

Updates!!!

Ok, I know I've been slacking in updating again. Sorry!!! I will TRY to update more often. So far life here has been great, with the exception of missing my baby. It is really fun buying your own food, going wherever you want to go whenever you want to go, shopping at any day of the week (hehe), and cooking whatever you want to eat whenever you want to eat. So far, me and Ching Yee have baked 1 cake together, another with Khong Hern, and the 2 of them baked 1 for my birthday. Hehe!!! We didn't bake it from scratch though. Lazy people like us bought the cake mix. Haha!!! But it was still fun. In fact, me and Ching Yee are going to bake another 1 later. Hehe!!!

She also knows how to make fish balls, so we bought a fresh mackerel this morning from the Fish Plaice, it's a shop that sells fresh fish and frozen chicken and things like that. It's much cheaper than Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury. Oh!!! Aldi has this special promotion of Harvest Morn's Honey Nut Flakes. £1 for 1kg. It's extremely yummy!!! Honey and peanut coated flakes.Hehe!!! It's cheap compared to Kellog's in Malaysia. Btw, you won't find this in Malaysia because Harvest Morn is produced for Aldi only. We don't have Aldi in Malaysia so.

So far, I've been surviving on baked chicken, fish, vegetables, potato... Anything baked. It's so easy!!! Just marinate the food, wrap it up in aluminium foil (which is provided by the uni), and throw it into the oven. After maybe 10-20mins, it's ready to eat!!! Hehe!!! I love the kitchen here as there is a toaster (which has not been used at all), oven, grill, fridge with freezer, cabinets, cooker, and microwave. So many things right? Hehe!!! Me and Bridget brought a rice cooker each, so we have that. The 3 of them has a pot each, and we bought a baking tray and a big wok. So we have all the cooking appliances we need.

Classes here start typically start around 9am, and finish around 12pm. If we have lab then it's 3 hours in the lab after lunch break. I really REALLY HATE morning labs. The doors close at 9.15am, and me being me, I'm always missing the alarm and things like that. I almost got shut out once. OMG!!! It's such a scary experience. Thankfully, a lecturer who apparently isn't normally nice to late students, let me in, without any scolding really. Just some serious reminders that this is the only time she will let me in late. If we miss a lab or a workshop or a PP3 class, with or without an MC, then we have a 2000words long essay about the lab. Without that letter, we can't sit for the exam. Scary le!!! I really have to wake up early. Haih!!!

The gym here is quite good. It's only £70 for 9months, which is cheaper than in Malaysia. They also have classes like dance fit, hip hop, body attack, aqua fit, and things like that which you can join for free if you're a member. There's also a swimming pool which is free for members. Non-members will have to pay £3 for the gym and £2.50 for any other activity. Another benefit of being a member is that some classes need to be booked, and non members can only book an hour before the class. Hehe. The gym had 2 weeks free for us, so we could see what it's like and decide if we wanted to join. I just joined this Monday. I'm proud to say that I've been rather regular, but this week I've slacked because I had some membership issues at the start of the week, and other complications. I didn't go today either because I was super tired. I really HAVE to go tomorrow.

Ok, I better go cook my dinner now, and then the cake baking will start!!! Yummy!!!

Hi people!!! Yes, I know an update is overdue. Hehe. Sorry!!! Was buzy with everything. I think I shall stop colouring people's names cuz it's incredibly tedious and is 1 of the main reason why I haven't blogged for so long.

So ok, I've reached Glasgow, Scotland. I flew to London on the 11th of Sept. Haha. Yes, the date was a total coincidence. Didn't realise it until I started telling people the date I'm going to fly. I went to London for about 5 days. We stayed in my mum's bank apartmen. It was fully furnished and totally awesome!!! Really!!! The furniture was really nice and the ID was great!!! The beds very really really heavenly soft and fluffy!!! Well, London was fun. We visited a lot of places, and the best thing is, we did all on our own!!! Just walking and taking the underground. My parents and my sister got a 3 day pass while I got the Oyster card since I might be coming down to London in the future for holidays and stuff. So we just took the underground everywhere, and walked where the underground couldn't take us. The only time we took a cab was to and fro the airport. The pictures I'll post onto facebook once I select them. Hehe.

Then we flew to Paris for 4 days and 3 nights. The hostel me and my dad booked online was horrible!!! It's actually quite cute but the service was kind of bad. We booked for 3 nights, but we when we got there, the girl said she can only guarantee us that night, and we'll have to come back to the counter the next morning to see if there's any room left. It's because their website had some problem and they are overbooked. We were like saying that it's their problem, not ours, why should we be the ones that suffer. She said she'll book us a night in a hotel nearby, and we don't have to pay extra.

The hostel is like a double story room. The ground floor has a double decker bed, a tiny toilet, a small shelf, and a curving staircase to the to floor. The upstairs has a double decker bed, a sink with a mirror, and a make shift wardrobe without doors. That's it. But it was ok to stay in. Then when we came back that night, it was already around 10++pm. We asked the guy at the counter about where our stay will be, and he said that we had to go to a nearby hotel called Hotel Citeau. He handed us back the money we paid and asked us to pay the hotel ourselves. But what if the hotel is more expensive? We are definitely not going to pay extra for their mistake. But the guy kept insisting that the price is usually the same. Then the worse thing is, he doesn't even know where it is. He said the girl in the morning booked it, so he doesn't know. Wtf?!?!

We tried arguing with him, and insisting that he bring us there, but in the end, all he did was take a map, bring us down a street nearby and say that it should be down that street. It was soooo frustrating!!! I asked him why can't he bring us there? And you know what he said to us? Can I leave the counter? WTF?!?!? We're part of his job too. Not just the bloody counter. But he left, with the map too, if I had not asked him if I could have that.

So, we had to ask our way to a hotel that nobody seems to know, besides the street its on, in a quite deserted time and area, ina place where hardly anyone speaks English. But, I finally found the place, thanks to a lady I asked, walking down the street. Hehe!!! She didn't know it, but she just said that if there's anything on Citeau street, it would be there, she thinks. Thanks!!!

The place was just as crappy, or maybe worse. We had to stay seperately as their rooms only cater for 2 person. The room had a queen sized bed, a small wardrobe, a table and a chair, a sink and a mirror, and some plug points. The end. The toilet was outside, and to use the shower, you have to pay 3€. Crazy!!! No breakfast somemore!!! It was cheaper by 2€ only. Haih!!!

The guy at the counter also said that if my dad came back the next morning before 9am, he can get the room for that night. So the next morning, my dad went there to get the room for the last night. But the girl at the counter, a chinese girl, said that they were overbooked and couldn't give him a room. My dad told her about what the guy at the counter last night saud, but she said she couldn't do anything. My dad was of course frustrated and asked her to call the manager. Her reply was super weird. The manager does not wake up so early. PLS!!! This is part of his job. Where got such thing as cannot call the manager in the morning at a respectable time, because he is sleeping??!!?! Then my dad asked her to call the 1st girl at the counter but she said she couldn't get her. Then my dad got really angry and banged the table. So she quickly called the manager. In the end, the manager agreed to let us have a room, and also breakfast for that morning, since the next morning we won't be having breakfast as our flight to London was at 7am, so we'll leave at 5am.

The places we saw at Paris were relatively little compared to London. We only went to the Opera, the Moulin Rouge, the Arc, the Bastille, the Lourve, and a few more. Food in Paris is slightly more expensive than in London. I don't know. That's just what I think.

Then so we flew to London to take another flight to Glasgow, waited for about 2 hours, then my friends arrived!!! Hehe!!! I arrived around 12pm on the 19th of Sept, while they came out of the gate at around 2pm. So we all went to the uni in the uni bus. My room is great, honestly. I like it!!! Except for the small and weirdly placed wardrobe, and the lack of place to hang things. The arrangement of our hostels are like this:

1 toilet, 1 kitchen : 4 ppl
1 living room: 8 ppl

But, in the end, since we were lucky, we got the corner lot, so the living room is only shared amongst us 4!!! Haha!!! Plus, somehow the shower's bigger too. Oh!!! There's another weird thing. There's actually 2 toilets. 1 toilet has a toilet bowl and a sink and a mirror. The other has a shower, a sink, and a mirror. So let's say you have some big business, you can't wash in the toilet bcuz there's no shower or any hose. You have to somehow get to the shower to wash. Weird huh? But we've survived for a few days.

Then we went shopping the next day!!! We walked all the way to a place called Chong Ying, to buy Chinese stuff like rice and oyster sauce. Then took a cab back (20kg of rice cannot carry and walk back 20mins ok?). Then we went to Tesco and LIDL. OMG. That took the entire day, and we bought so much stuff that we needed some time to load everything into the cab. After reaching the hostel, we had to unload everything onto the road. Haha. The cab couldn't drop us directly outside our block, so we had to walk like maybe 300m. There was so much stuff that 1 of us had to take care of it, while us 2 had to carry as much as much as we can back, and come back again for another round. It took us 3 rounds to take everything. OMG.

On Tues, we went to Arglye Street for shopping!!! OMG!!! I LOVE Primark!!! The things there are cheap!!! And really, UK is leopard heaven!!! Everywhere there's leopard print this, leopard print that. So nice!!! Furry stuff too!!! We even saw a pillow with faux fur by Tesco, and it was super soft!!! However, it was 13 pounds, so hehe, not in my budget. Anyw, the prices at Primark are pretty good, even when comparing to Malaysia. Well, of course not All of it, but quite a lot. I bought a leopard print umbrella (3 pounds), a purple top (1 pound), a super nice black dress (3 pounds), a black spaghetti strap top (1 pound), a leopard jute shopping bag (0.5 pounds), a mango body scrub (0.5 pounds), thick cotton tights (2 pounds), and a black beaded multi layer bracelet (1 pound). Cheap ok the stuff??!!? And the HEELS!!! OMG!!! So damn nice. But pricey... Haih. So I didn't buy any. If I do work part time, I'm definitely gonna save up for a super gorgeous sexy pair. *dreaming...*

We've started cooking our meals now. It's fun!!! We had salmon 1 night. OMG!!! So delicious!!! SO simple only some more. Anyw, all the pics will be up in facebook. Soon. Hehe.

My classes start tomorrow so I'll be seeing the lecturers and the lecture theatres. Hope they're nice!!! =)

Normally everytime after I leave his house, I will message him when I reach home, to tell him that I've reached the house. But today when I got home, my phone battery died and my mum was watching Bionic Woman, so I joined her. I remembered that I needed to message him, but decided to do it later when I get upstairs and charge my phone. After all, he usually doesn't reply that message so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to message later. What I didn't expect was that the show was quite long, only finishing about 1 hour after I reached home. Then I went upstairs, switched on my laptop and facebook-ed awhile till 10pm. Hehe. I realised it was late already and so quickly prepared to shower (have not eaten dinner). Then I remembered I have not messaged him, so I quickly charged the phone. As soon, as the phone was on, a message came in "You have 22 miss call(s) from **********" OMG!!! I hurriedly typed a message to him saying that I was ok, and I'm at home and explanined to him what happened. That was when a multitude of messages came in.

"Baby are u ok?"
"Hello, can u pls reply?"
"Hello hello hello"
"OMG baby are u ok?..."

Something like that la. He was so worried. Then his call came in. OMG. He contacted so many people to get my house number. He lost my house number and my parents' numbers sometime ago but forgot to ask me for them. He said that for the past 1.5hrs he couldn't study and kept calling people. He said that I can't imagine the trauma he went through. I'm so sorry baby. while I was watching TV and playing facebook, you were calling people and worrying your head off. Sorry!!!

I felt really bad, but at the same time very touched. I didn't think he really read those reached home messages, and that he would be so worked up if I didn't send one. Thanks baby. Really!!!

Orange Poppy and Garlic Sausage

Today Nicole Woon gave all of us an Orange Poppy muffin that she baked herself. Not from a box wan ok? No cake mix or short cuts!!!

Pretty? Yummy? Definitely!!!

But er, I have not tried it. Hehe. Because I wanted to share with my darling during lunch, but we ate McDonald's today, and was so full and so decided to eat it later. Today we had a Sundae Cone!!! Hehe!!! Because I was very "guai" (good) yesterday (I did 17km on the exercise bike). Hehe!!! Yummy!!!

Ok, so anyway, after lunch, he continued studying while I looked at an IKEA brochure that just came. I just adore IKEA stuff!!! Their furniture and stuff are so stylish and functional. Unfortunately, they are also very expensive. Hmmph!! After going through it like 3 times, I went on to read Inkheart. I have not even read till the middle but I can conclude that it is a seriously nice read. I have not watched the movie (yes, I know I'm outdated), but I received 2 reviews that are at both extreme ends. My darling said that when he and his couz went to watch it, both of them didn't like it. However, Ching Yee said that it was very nice. So, I don't know who to believe. What I do know is that I would prefer to watch the movie before I finish the book. This is because I believe that if you read the book first, you will ALWAYS be disappointed with the movie. After all, you can't really expect the filmmakers to be able to recreate the story exactly. Actually that is what I expect but, it doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon so I shall stick with reality.

Then it was already 4pm. Nap time!!! (omg, I sound like a small kid) He couldn't really sleep but me, as usual, slept very well. By the time he woke me up, it was already 6pm. Exercise time. Went to exercise, then thought that we could eat it after that. But then his mum came back right after we finished out workout so I had to quickly shower. Then I packed my stuff and went downstairs to drink soup. By the time I remembered the muffin, I already finished the soup and was going to leave. He told me to eat it by myself since it's meant for me anyway. But I really wanted to share it with him so I'm gonna keep it till tomorrow.

That is the funny thing about me, I just love to share everything with him. As in EVERYTHING!!! Even for example a few nice biscuits my mum/dad/whoever brought back, expensive chocolate, anything that I find nice and know that he probably will like it too, I want to share it with him. Even if I myself only have a small miserable piece. I will try my best to keep it and bring it to his house so that we can share it. I'm not sure if it's normal. Hehe.

Oh!!! About the lamb that day, OMG!!! It tasted ok, quite nice if I can say so myself. But it took way too long to cook. Not sure why. Some pieces were ok, but some needed like 40minutes to cook. Even then it was just ok, like if it was cooked a little longer then it would have been better. I'm not into raw or medium raw. I prefer well done.

On Tues, I felt soo sooo frustrated in the morning. I came a little earlier specially for my darling because his class was suppose to end at 10.30 while mine starts at that time. So, I was hoping to see him before my class and after his ends. After parking my car in the car park, I found his car parked near the staircase. I was going to pull his wipers up and stick a note on his windshield when I saw someone coming up the stairs. I was a bit shy about it so I just stood around his car waiting for her to pass. But low and behold, her car was the one parked next to his!!! I was thinking whether I should run over to my car and quickly shift her here. But I have no idea, what made me stand there so long. By the time I really wanted to move, I saw a car coming and was so so terrified that he/she might park in that spot!!! I waited there to see, but luckily, the car parked somewhere else. Then, I wanted to move but another car came!!! This time I was not so lucky and she parked there. Haih!!! It felt soooo frustrating!!! If I had moved my ass earlier I would have gotten that parking. Aargh!!!

After sticking on the note, I went to uni, and when I was on the 2nd floor, I saw a lot of his batch mates so I knew his class was over so I called him. Guess what? He was already on the way to the car park!!! I didn't even see him!!! He went to the cafeteria first, so I missed him. OMG!!! If I had called him earlier this would not have happened. It's like, if I had done things earlier, which some voice in my head had told me to, I would have gotten both the chance to park next to his car AND to see him before my class. It was so pissing off I tell you. But then, at the end of the day, I felt that it as not such a bad day after all, because...

I finally bought the Garlic Sausage bun!!! OMG!!! I'm in love with it!!! (Don't worry baby, I still love you more) It's so so delicious!!! It's like garlic bread with a sausage in the middle. So yummy!!! The buns at the cafe in the library are seriously good. The buns are so soft and fluffy, especially if you ask them to heat it up. I particularly love their Fish Chip burger, Chicken Cheese Triangle (or something like that), Double Cheese bun, Garlic bread, Doughnut Stick, and now, Garlic Sausage bun!!! Hehe!!!

It's not as serious as it sounds, but it's still very terrible. I had Nasi Lemak for lunch today in IMU's cafeteria. It was from the Indian Stall. I already gave up on their mix rice because it seriously is too bloody expensive for the amount they give (they scoop for you, so you can't hide anything anywhere or take the amount you want). I only buy things like Roti Canai (RM1.00/piece), Tosai (RM1.00/piece), Nasi Lemak (RM1.20/plate) from them because the price is fixed and is shown to you, and it is reasonable. So, today I spotted this dish...

Looks nice right?(It did to me anyw) At first I thought it was prawns, but she told me it was fish fillet. I was so tempted to take it, and I did. I was thinking that today my lunch will only cost me around RM2. BUT, it was RM3.20!!! OMG!!! RM2 for that 2 miserable pieces of fish fillet. Maybe it looks big in the pic, but see this pic!!!

That is how insignificant it is. And it cost me RM2. OMG!!! I rather use that RM2 to buy a Garlic Sausage Bun from the cafe in the library. Haih!!!

That's why I said, DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!!

I am officially boycotting the mix rice in IMU's cafeteria. Join me? =)

On 21st of May, Wednesday, it was Sook Yee's 22nd birthday!!! We celebrated it at Tony Roma's, Mid Valley. Before that I went to Ching Yee's place. We played "pig" in Lee Ming's room (Ching Yee's house mate), with Chris , Shin Yen and Chooi Chooi.

The game goes like this...

1. Take n (n being the number of people playing the game) sets of numbers from the deck.
2. Everyone gets 4 cards and you pass a card anti-clockwise or clockwise (up to you) with the objective of getting all 4 of the same number.
3. All the while you have to keep your eyes on everyone.
4. Once somebody gets all 4 cards of the same number, they will do a pre-determined action (in our case was putting a finger on our nose). It's best to do something that is not too obvious.
5. Everyone has to do the same action, and the last person who does it is a pig.
6. Normal people can't talk to the pig. If they do, they become a pig too.
7. So, if the pig becomes a pig again in the next round, he/she becomes a Level 2 pig.
8. Level 1 pig can only talk to Level 1 pigs, Level 2 with Level 2 and so on.
9. If a Level 1 pig talks to a Level 3 pig, he/she will automatically become a Level 3 pig too.
10. So the pig's objective is to talk to lower level pigs and normal pigs to trick them into replying or responding to them so that they become a pig or increase in level.
11. At the end, the person who is the lowest level pig or not a pig at all wins.

Haha. It was so funny!!! In the end, Chooi Chooi was the winner. Me and Chris were Level 1 pigs, Lee Ming, Shin Yen and Ching Yee were all Level 3 pigs. When Chris and I realised Ching Yee (who was then a Level 2 pig) responded to Lee Ming (who was already a Level 3 pig), we just looked at each other and burst out laughing. Haha. I didn't fall for any of their tricks. The only reason why I became a Level 1 pig was because I didn't understand the rules that well in the 1st round, so I was last to put my finger to my nose. I thought that the last person to get all 4 cards of the same number becomes the pig. Haha.

So anyw, I drove to Mid Valley, fetching Ching Yee, Chooi Chooi, Huey Ping, Sze Ying and Nicole Liew. Sounds pack in a Wira? Well, it was for them. Haha. The advantage of being the driver, is that we ALWAYS don't have to be squished. Even the person sitting in the front passenger seat might have to share it with another person if the situation calls for it. I don't know why people hate driving so much. I understand if it's during a jam, but normal times? It's so fun to feel the power of your car (although mine is only a Wira), and zoom past other cars. Of course the make of the car matters, but the person driving it matters more (Wahaha, sounds like self-praise). If you can drive well, even with a Kelisa you can outrun better cars. Of course it doesn't apply when you're competing with a Mersedes or a BMW or other much better cars.

Ok ok, back to the topic. We went there earlier to walk around and buy the birthday cake. After a little walking around, some calling and a lot of debating among ourselves, we decided on Cheeze Choc from Secret Recipe. The message we wrote was quite cute. Hehe. See it in the pic later. The dinner was suppose to start at 6.30pm, but the rest of the people took soooo long to get there. I think they reached at 8pm? Not sure because I didn't check my darling watch.

Sook Yee looked so much prettier than usual. She was in everything Wendy. Meaning everything she wore was from Wendy la. From head to toe. Wendy, Khong Hern and Chris were responsible for it all. Make up, clothes, heels. Sook Yee looks nice in make up. Usually she doesn't put make up, or maybe she does but it's not obvious as she wears specs so they cover it. That night they made her take of her specs. Haha. She looked pretty without it but she was like half blind because her power is high. Oh, and her feet hurt because Wendy (same size as me!!!) is 2 sizes smaller than her. Oh well, they do say that beauty hurts.

The food there was good!!! Sze Ying, Chooi Chooi, Huey Ping, Nicole and I all ordered sanwhiches/burgers. All of us, except Nicole (because she doesn't eat beef) , divided out food into 4 portions and we all shared. We ordered Chicken BBQ, Sirloin Cheddar Grille, Chicken Swiss and Beef Bacon, and 1 more which I can't remember. The portion was so huge that I had trouble finishing it all. Or maybe it was because I didn't really concentrate on eating and so got full faster. Ching Yee ordered Fish and Fries. It was yummy!!! The sauces there are quite nice too. Hmmm, but the price is a little over my usual budget.

I used my credit card for everything, so I was the cashier for the day. OMG!!! Really, I have to be more organised the next time I do this kind of thing. I didn't seperate the money for the cake and the food bill so everything got mixed up. Spent soooo long collecting and counting the money. In the end, I managed to get the amount correct. I think? Even if I didn't, the loss wasn't that much, at most RM5.

I was suppose to go home after that, BUT Ching Yee and Sook Yee convinced me to stay over. So I did, in Lee Ming's room because she has an extra bed (her roommate went back to her hometown). Luckily I brought my exercise clothes, so that was my PJs that night. We talked all night. Well, not ALL night, but till 3am!!! OMG!!! My class the next morning was at 9.15am, so I had about...5 hrs and 40mins of sleep. I woke up at 8.40am, after much willpower on my part and alot of ringing power on my alarm's part. I had a quick shower, wore back the same clothes I wore the night before (no choice!!!), then left the place with Ching Yee at 9am. Fast le? Haha.

Outing with Vicki

On Wednesday night, I met up with Vicki. We had dinner in Ming Tien, so we ate Sarawak Handmade Noodles, as usual. Hehe. Then we shared a BIG glass of refreshing watermelon juice!!! After that, we headed to Giant, KJ cuz she needed to get some supplies for her Turtle Camp. She left on Friday night. *sob sob*

Haha. Overall, it was a short but super fun outing. We talked, laughed and teased each other so much!!! Hehe. Makes me miss Fourforever, but at the same time feel lucky that Vicki is still here.

My shopping spree!!!

These are what I bought that day in Goin' Places, Centrepoint, and Padini and Elements in The Curve. Hehe.

There were tons of different jackets and wind-breakers and sweaters and whatever that is needed in the winter. But since I already have some jackets and clothes from other people, I just bought these.

A long wool cardigan (my mum thinks it looks like a sleeping robe)

Purple ear mufflers (velvety!!!), soft purple muffler (something like a scarf. I LOVE it!!!) and soft leather gloves

I can't go out only in skirts after all, I'll freeze without these.

Long johns. Mine's two-piece since it's much more convenient when I wanna go to the toilet. Hehe. (There's purple!!!)

The inside of the hood is furry. The fluffy lining can be seperated from the hood, and the hood itself can also be taken off. Hehe!!!

After that, me and my sis headed to The Curve as my mum had a DOME cash voucher that was expiring soon. On the way to DOME, we spotted Padini, with a huge "sale" sign. Since I have the member card, we got extra discounts!!!However, it was still not that cheap, so we only bought 1 piece each. Then, as we walked out, we saw another SALE sign just opposite us, in ELEMENTS. Yay!!! We made a beeline for it. Haha!!!

Amazingly, a lot of their sale items had S size, even XS for some. So, I grabbed everything that had an S or XS size and we headed to the changing room with our arms full of clothes. Haha. Luckily there was no limit to how many you can try at a time. Most of them fit and looked wonderful!!! Hehe!!! Lots of them were for only RM19.90 or RM29.90. Cheap!!! There were even 2 racks of 40%!!!

I finally got myself some fitting slacks. This pin-strip darling from ELEMENTS was on 40%!!!

I also got myself a pair of white knee high boots from ELEMENTS. Again, amazingly, they had my size!!! My sis bought 4 tops. 1 of them was this nice unique jacket that at first I thought was mine. But in the end she took them away!!! No!!! I really feel like going back there and buying another 1 for myself. After all, it's only RM19.90, it's worth it!!!

Ok, then we finally made it to DOME without any more stops. The food there is scrumptious but expensive. I had a Creamy Seafood Pasta and one of their ice blended coffee-chocolate thingy. OMG!!! The drinks was absolutely heavenly. That is if you prefer chocolate over coffee. That is not to say that it didn't taste of coffee. It did, just that the chocolate taste was the strongest. Delicious!!! The pasta was fantastic as well. It came with a few rings of squid, 3 large prawns, some cubes of fish, shreds of abolone mushroom, and 3 mussels. I'm not particularly fond of shell fish (besides scallop) and always find that they are way too fishy and taste odd. The only mussels I like so far are from Manhatten Fish Market and now, from DOME as well. The cream sauce was a little too diluted, but it still tasted great to me.

My sis had a cheese and ham croissant, and lemon chill. The croissant was delicious, albeit a little miserable since it's actually on the breakfast menu. It came without any extras. No salad by the side, nothing. Just a croissant. The contents weren't even spilling out. However, it was delicious, although you can actually make it at home as well. With good quality cheddar, of course. I don't really fancy lemon, but I found the lemon chill refreshing. So I would give it two thumbs up. My sis however, felt that it was rather normal. Anyw, the total for the night was RM70 ++!!! Just for 2 person. We didn't even order any extras, or super expensive dishes. Luckily we had the cash voucher. Haha.I definitely can't afford to eat there on my own.

After that, we went home.

Hi!!! I know it has been super long since my last post. Hehe. Sorry!!! It's already the 5th week of the semester. So fast!!! It felt just like yesterday that I started Sem4. I really have got to start on my assignments. I have a mock test on Tues for Pharmacy Practice. It's the subject I like the most. It's not easy, but it's fun. Hehe. We get to make real medication in the lab. Of course it's not safe enough to be used, so it's all thrown away after that. It's really the most applicable subject for now. It really gives you more of a pharmacy feel, rather than all chemistry.

I recently watched X-men Origins: Wolverine. The show was super nice to me!!! Watched it with my baby of course. Hehe. I watched Mall Cop: Paul Blart too. This I watched with Vicki during our Fourforever (divided by 2) outing to 1u. Funny la the show. The lead actress looks rather familiar, but just can't remmenber what other movies she starred in, or maybe it's just another actress who looks like her. Haih. SO saddening there's only the two of us left. We ate dinner at Johnny's but the feel was gone. Even the food tasted bleehhh. We couldn't bring ourselves to finish it. So wasteful, but we were not hungry, the food was not yummy and we were emo-ing. How to finish?

I'm so broke recently. I feel like buying so many things, but just looking at the price I know I defintely can't afford it. Haih!!! Shoes shoes shoes. I love them so much but why must they cost so much? During the fourforever (divided by 2) outing, I saw a super nice sexy pair in Voir. They shifted downstairs, near the cold storage btw, did you know? Anyw, it was this pair in sexy red with black trim, looks abit like ankle boots but has cut outs, about 3inches at least!!! They weren't even on discount yet and it was already down to the LAST PAIR!!! Amazingly, they were in Size 4!!! How rare is that? Usually last pairs will either be in size 3, or some humoungus size. But not this time, they just my size!!! It was sooooooo tempting. I even tried it on. OMG!!! Looked sooooooo soooooooo sooooooooooooo GORGEOUS!!! (the shoes). Haih. But it wasn't on discount, plus I'm broke, so... I left it there... I didn't snap a pic of it because I was worried the people there wouldn't like it. Now I can't even find a pic of it on the internet. Honestly, brands like Voir, Vincci, Diva, and other big brands should have online galleries of all their stuff. It makes like alot easier for us, don't you think?

Now I'm going to Centerpoint. Going Places is having a sale there. Gotta get my winter clothing. See ya!!!

A:fair Weekend Biggest Bazaar @ SOHO KL

There has always been plenty of bazaars happening. It's just that I'm quite new to the blogshops world, it seems like suddenly there are tons!!! Anyway, here's a new bazaar for you.
A:fair Weekend Biggest Bazaar @ SOHO KL on the 25th and 26th of April
It's not too soon so you have time to plan with your girlfriends or persuade your boyfriend to follow you. =) For blogshop owners, register here. Registration closes on the 17th of April or when their quota is met. So hurry up!!!

There are other activities too besides shopping. Here's the list!!!

Battle of the Talent - We will have bands and performers battle it out on our stage. Votings will be done by SMS and contestant will also face our professional jury. Grand Prize RM 1,000!
Live performances - We will have bands performing all over SOHO KL, (we will 3 different stage at this event and different location of SOHO KL)
Runway show - Vendors will be parading their clothes. (My favourite!!!)
Business talk - We will have panels that will be talking about their business experience especially during the economy crisis.
Traders Incubation - Traders who wish to expand their business, we will have a session and a booth to give you advice alongside financial assistance.
Health Screening - We will have Medical Bodies coming to do health screening and offer health counseling.

3K Inn and prom dress

Hi!!! I'm back!!! Finally finished my EOS on Thurs. So relieving!!! After the exam we went to MidValley to celebrate Huey Ping's belated birthday. All of us got her a white Puma (I think) sling bag. We had dinner at Sushi King. We sat there quite long, just chatting. Then we went off our own ways. Huey Ping and Ibah went to Jusco, Wan Yuan and her bf went to eat, Nicole and her bf went home or something, Chooi Chooi went to find her friends, and me and Ching Yee went to get her harddisk. After that, we did some window shopping for my prom dress then went to Jusco. Overall it was a very enjoyable trip out as it was the 1st friend outing for a rather long time. Haha.

Confessions of a Shopaholic is coming soon!!! Yay!!! Will most probably watch it with Wan Yuan and Nicole since Fourforever is not around anymore. Plus I don't think GM™ would want to watch this. Hehe. It's more suitable to be watched with good girlfriends. Talking about shopping, I did some shopping myself!!!

MPH had a warehouse sale in Mayang Plaza until today. I went there with my mum yesterday and bought RM200+ worth of books!!! Hehe!!! Some of them were really cheap!!! Like the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. It was going for only RM3 per book!!! I went crazy and grabbed 16!!! Then I bought the rest of the Shopaholic series (I already have 2), some Cecelia Adhern's books and a simple cookbook. Now I don't have to be worried about getting bored during the hols. I have more than 20 books to read!!!!!!!

Then, me and my mum went prom dress hunting. Our 1st stop was Just's Wardrobe in Damansara Uptown. It is 2 floors of dresses, dresses and more dresses!!! But then some were seriously too expensive!!! There was this dress that I liked, but it cost RM2000!!! OMG!!! Anyw, I tried on quite a few dresses. In the end I bought my prom dress there. Haha. Rather short prom dress hunting. I'll not disclose any information about my prom dress until the day itself. Hehe.

Then we went to Cineleisure where my babysitter's daughter, Esther opened a shop at, X'thena or something like that. It's on the 1st floor, facing the entrance. I tried a dress there once when I was on a date with GM™. So coincidently she was there at her shop (She's not normally there). So, she recommended some of the dresses to me. There was one that really captured my heart!!! Unfortunately it's not really a prom dress, more like a clubbing dress. Fortunately my mum bought it for me anyways!!! Hehe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a super hot day so my mum got us a McD sundae cone. Yummy!!!

Then we went round the flee market but I didn't buy anything except earrings which were going for 5 for RM10. We had dinner at Waroeng Penyet. The food is ok, but the chicken is seriously tiny. The fried chicken is their specialty but the grilled chicken appeals to me better. There was an article in the newspaper calling it the Asian KFC. Honestly, it'll NEVER beat KFC. In price, quality, and quantity. Well, that's just what I think.

Today, after watching CSI, me and my mum went to 3K Inn for the offline bazaar thingy where online shops come and sell their stuff. I'm so happy I went!!! Hehe!!! Althought I wished I went with my friends. It would be more fun to change together and then have a friend's opinion on how the clothes look. I missed those times. I met 3 of my friends there, all batchmates, well 1 batchmate and 2 ex-batchmates. 2 of them were from Notts and are shop owners, Zhi Xuan from A lil of Everything and Siew Wui from Shopping Playground. The other one is Jessie from IMU, my batchmate. Anyway these are the things I bought.

The only problem now is that I don't know where to put all this stuff!!! Hehe. Guess I should clear out my wardrobe soon!!!
